Youth Protection

Meetings are open

Consistent with BSA policy, parents and registered adult leaders are always welcome at all scout activities.

No one-on-one contact

For the safety of scouts and leaders, there should be no one-on-one contact. If youth need to email or text an adult, cc a parent or scout leader. Adults contacting youth should do the same.

Adult supervision

Some activities at camp require adult supervision. You should only do these activities with the permission and in-person supervision of a responsible adult. For example, the Fire Safety merit badge requires lighting a candle safely. The Cooking merit badge may require a hot stove or oven. BSA also requires parent/guardian permission for scouts to visit web sites and post things online.

We want our scouts to stay safe, so please help us make sure there is always someone else nearby to assist in an emergency.
